London First - Project Manager

London First is a business membership organisation representing large businesses in London. In October last year, London First, together with the Environment Agency used CitySafe’s Virtual Exercise System to deliver an online scenario that allowed businesses to exercise their continuity plans against the effects of severe weather.

The exercise was a terrific success. More than 300 businesses signed up and the feedback was fantastic. The Virtual Exercise System allowed businesses to test their plans online, at a time and place convenient for them. It offered a dynamic platform for debate between private and public sector and also allowed us to share good practice and signpost to current guidance. From conception to delivery, Nick Beale and his team were very engaged, flexible and quick to respond. The system itself is user friendly, easy to navigate and produced good reports from the responses.

Online testing is an innovative, cost effective and surprisingly realistic way for businesses, small and large, to prove and improve plans. London First certainly intends to continue working closely with CitySafe - our members have already expressed interest to repeat the VES exercise! It is a very effective tool that has huge support from London First and our members.
